Education as a Social Institution and a Factor of the National Security of the Russian Federation

Abstract
The role of education as a social institution and a strategic factor in the national security of the Russian Federation is examined. The evolution of education from a traditional mechanism of socialization to a multifunctional instrument for ensuring sovereignty under geopolitical, demographic, and ideological challenges is analyzed. The functional and human resource potential of the educational system is considered in the context of contemporary security strategies. The integration of educational policy into the system of societal resilience through patriotic education, the strengthening of cultural identity, and the preparation of specialists for key sectors is identified. The differentiation of educational approaches is characterized with regard to regional sociocultural specificities, including territories with distinct humanitarian conditions. The transformation of education into a tool for fostering technological independence and developing soft power is substantiated. Interrelations between the quality of the educational environment, demographic stability, successful migration adaptation, and the mitigation of social disintegration risks are established. The need for further research aimed at adapting the educational system to emerging threats and accounting for regional specificity to enhance state resilience is noted.
