Abstract
The topic of Russian Orthodoxy and the history of Orthodoxy in China are being analyzed by Chinese researchers again today. The strategy of Chinese-Russian relations explains this interest. It is aimed at equal dialogue, based on understanding each other. Chinese researchers have long come to the conclusion that it is possible to understand the Russian character only when you study the culture of the peoples of Russia and the Russian mentality. They continue to study the history of the Orthodox Church in China. They use the historical-descriptive method and form the dynamics of this process. They study the history of the Orthodox Church in China through an analysis of political processes in Russia and China. Heilongjiang Province remains the most prominent focus of this study. China's ethnic culture policy is the next direction of this research. Chinese scientists in these studies study ethnic minority religions. They are researching their cultures. This direction is becoming a priority. Its necessity is associated with the formation of the concept of national culture. The purpose of this article was the following. The authors had to substantiate the approaches that were formed in Chinese philosophy and religious studies for the study of the Orthodox Church in China. The authors turned to the interpretative method, a comparative analysis of authentic sources that are not represented in the works of Russian scientists.
