From Settlement to Suburb: Outskirts of Irkutsk in the Last Third of the XXth – the Early XXIth Century

Abstract
The article concerns processes of formation of suburbs in the Irkutsk agglomeration in the late XX – the early XXI century. Moreover it examines main types of suburban settlements according to the interaction between urban and rural societies. The author concludes that new local community like a suburban was formed at the outskirts of town.
