The Idea of Sacrifice in Religious and Social Asceticism (Comparative Analysis)

Abstract
The relation between religious and social asceticism through self-sacrifice concept is considered. Principal provisions of these phenomena are given. A comparative analysis of religious and social approaches to the understanding of spiritual care highlights some aspects of divergence of ideas on the goals and methods of their implementation and strives. Special emphasis is placed on the study of intellectual asceticism in Russia. A communicative component of social interaction in these types of activities oriented to the common good is examined.
