Abstract
The article considers main time points of academic biography of Doctor of Sciences (Culturology), Professor of Irkutsk State University. He is presented as an accomplished university professor training bachelors and masters of social sciences and humanities. Theoretical and methodological framework for his studies is outlined. His contribution to the study of religious politics in Russia beginning with XVIII century is shown.
