The authors reveals the process, keynote speeches, and recommendation, given by participants of the research-to-practice conference on ethno-confessional problems of Irkutsk region and Irkutsk. In the course of discussion, contributors and speakers at a debate examined and analyzed situation existing in the regional center and region in regard to inter-confessional and ethnic relations. Pro-active attitude was shown by the expert on the range of problems under consideration, invited from Moscow. The discussants were directly relevant to the range of problems under consideration and had real-life experience to manage emerging conflicts and resolve such controversy. At the round-table there were executive authorities – chief executives of the Government of Irkutsk region and Administration of Irkutsk, members of the public- members of the Public Chamber of Irkutsk region and Heads of Cultural-national autonomies, administrations of regional universities. At the present moment situation in Irkutsk region in respect to confessional and ethnic tension is relatively satisfactory. However the expanding processes, revealed by monitoring, demonstrate increase of negative tendencies. According to the conference participants, if let matters take their course, and do not carry out prevention measures, then the situation can get beyond control and result in mass disorders and massacre.
