Discourse Power in China’s Foreign Policy: Interpretations and Promotion of the «One Belt – One Road» Initiative

Abstract
The “One Belt – One Road Initiative” initiative (OBOR) proposed by China has apparently become one of the most significant international projects of recent times. The possibility of its successful implementation, as they believe in China, is largely determined not only by establishing public communication, but also by the need to build an appropriate discourse that will neutralize the damage from erroneous interpretations and possible negative connotations. Accordingly, efforts to arrange and promote OBOR, being one of the most ambitious foreign China projects today, prove to be useful to understand practicality of using discursive power being a poorly studied instrument in the arsenal of China's soft power.
