Abstract
The article analyzes the impact of ethno-cultural stereotypes on the image of the state. The issues of the fromation of the image of the state were common in the past. It examines within a historical context "The Black Legend" and "Testament of Peter I" as the examples Spanish and Russian literary works influenced by stereotypes.
