The article presents reflection on the philosophy of Russian history by Khomyakov from the perspective of his doctrine of sobornost as «unity in variety», which the philosopher saw as the basis of not only church governance, but also personal, public and state life in general. The article defines religious and philosophical, historical, geopolitical and social factors through genesis of Khomyakov’s teachings about sobornost as «unity in variety» on the basis of which the thinker considers the historiosophy of Russia. The author comes to the conclusion that A. S. Khomyakov describes development of the communal arrangement in Russia as a natural process having particular timeframe.
