Abstract
The article examines the political socialization of Russian university students as a specific group. The relevance of the research is due to the profound transformations taking place in the student environment under the influence of digitalization, changes in the higher education system and global socio-cultural trends. Based on a comprehensive theoretical and methodological analysis and empirical data (student essays and expert interviews), the key characteristics of modern student youth have been identified: changing models of civic and political activism. Special attention is paid to the phenomenon of "adult students", the hybridization of forms of political participation and the instrumentalization of citizenship in conditions of uncertainty of long-term prospects. The results of the work indicate that modern students are inclined to selective and pragmatic participation/nonparticipation in socio-political life, preferring digital and local forms of activity, which requires rethinking traditional approaches to the political socialization of young people in Russian universities.
