The Religious Factor in the Context of the Struggle for Power as an Element of the Process of Transformation of National-State Identity

Abstract
The article analyzes the continuing sustainable interest in studying the processes of communication between religious confessions and political forces striving for power and acting as independent subjects of change in national and state identity. The article focuses on the various circumstances that accompanied the formation of the national identity of modern states in the past. The mechanism of active participation of religion in the power struggle is considered, especially at the very beginning of this process, at the stage of formalizing goals in the program documents of political parties, as well as their preliminary verification and implementation. In the future, we can expect an increase in the tendency towards closer interaction between all participants in the political struggle. This will be determined by the real political situation, the impact of many internal and external political events, as well as the peculiarities of the transformation of national identity in each region.
