Abstract

The processes of globalization taking place in our time are not the spread of “global culture”, still remaining a battleground for imposition of certain values by large cultural and historical subjects – civilizations. This struggle takes place at three interrelated levels: economic, political and cultural. These levels are associated with various values of cultural and historical subjects based on their cultural code. Values of a cultural code determine the development of the cultural and historical subject limiting the ability to make decisions. It is also important to note that economic and political values in particular are the most “flexible”, as they are on the line of interaction with other cultural and historical subjects. In this regard, it is important to understand what political values the subject had in its historical development, what values it has now and will promote in the near future. This can be learned by analyzing political values in youth. Russia is one of such subjects with its own set of values. In order to find out what will form the policy of such cultural and historical entity as Russia in the near future, the author has analyzed the results of the study aimed at identifying political values of the Russian youth carried out by an interuniversity group of scientists. Basic political values of the youth were identified and the interpretation of the results was proposed.
