The article concerns life and scientific investigations of V. T. Agalakov, Doctor of Historical Science, Professor of the Irkutsk State University. His historical researches were focused both on the formation of the governmental authorities in the Soviet Russia, as well as on the History of Revolution and Civil War in Siberia. V. T. Agalakov was joint author of such fundamental works as the History of Siberia in 5-s volumes, the History of Civil War and Intervention in the USSR, History of Siberian peasantry. V. T. Agalakov was one of leading specialists and the recognized authorities of the Social and Economic History of 20–60-s of the last century.
