Baikal Territory as an Administrative Unit

Abstract
A new way of Russia regionalization based on basin approach is considered The idea of forming Baikal territory on the basis of Irkutsk Region and Republic of Buryatia is substantiated. The analysis of reasons of uniting the two territories from the point of view of history, geography, economy, and ethnos is given.
