This paper explores the issue of the actual situation as regards Siberia’s economic effec-tiveness and profitability and its contribution to the generation of the country’s budgetary-financial resources. Calculations were performed for the Siberian regions to reveal a consis-tent tendency for underreporting of industrial output and, accordingly, of budget revenues, with most of them being redistributed in favor of the federal center, Russia-wide companies (financial and industrial groups) and capital cities (Moscow and St.Petersburg).
