Abstract
Genesis of social protest is probed in the field of folk education in the Irkutsk area at the end of 80th – to the first half of 90th of ХХ age. Activity and role of trade unions of region is analysed in social protest, description of requirements of social protest in the field of folk education and methods of fight for their realization, measures, undertaken power in connection with social protest in education, results of protest motion of folk education in the Irkutsk area.
