The Russian Orthodox Church as Social Institution and Its Church-Administrative and Hierarchical Elites in Modern Russia

Abstract
The purpose of the article is to analyze the position of ROC as social institution and its administrative-political and hierarchical elitesover XX–XXI centuries. ROC has big influence upon social relations through its authority formed in the context of the history development of Russia. Supreme church authorities such as achurch council, bishop’s council, Holy Synod, Synodal institutions and other bodies of church administration are analyzed.
