Shaman's Image in the Mythological Complex of the Altaians

Abstract

The article deals with the image of a shaman in the Altaian mythology, moreover his main functions and responsibilities, in correlation with the concept of the three-level structure of the world, which is inhabited by spirits and gods. The article considers the shaman as homo religious – an ideal man, who lives in harmony with the surrounding world and the gods.
