The article concerns the problem of globalization impact on religion that still remains understudied. This issue is considered within the activity of the Orthodox Church. The authors attempt to define the frontiers of knowledge relevant to this process and to focus on global regionalization as main tendency in social development of the human society and the Russian Orthodox Church activity in response to the dialectically contrary tendencies of globalization and global regionalization.
