Missionary Activities of the First Irkutsk Bishops

Abstract
The article examines the missionary activities of the Orthodox clergy in Eastern Siberia. Difficulties and challenges faced with in the course of Christianization are highlighted. The role of first Irkutsk bishops in this process is shown. Special attention is paid to the change of requirements applied to the bishops in the course of Christianization and their role in this process.
