The article deals with problems of the Siberian hagiography history in the XIX – early XX centuries. The Russian hagiography development of the Synodal period is still poorly studied, this is largely true for hagiography of our region. Domestic hagiologists in their papers of the second half of the XIX century pointed the necessity to study the provincial hagiography, the place of Siberian hagiography in the all-Russian course was determined and the activity program was planned. The author analyzes the contribution of modern specialists in studying the genre transformation in the period under review, and highlights some characteristics of the phenomenon: the relation with the historical science development, biographism, the patristics genre development. The problem of the need to identify and study the history of hagiographic writings and to view papers by Siberian ecclesiastical historians in the context of hagiography is raised. Another possible direction of future investigation is identification of territorial hagiographic loci within the region. And Siberian hagiography during the Soviet period still remains to be studied.
