The article analyzes the processes of remythologization of cultural space of Russia and Western Europe in connection with the ideologization and politicization of religious consciousness. With the help of comparative philosophy and value approach it is proved that there is necessity to supplement the study of the concept of local cultures with consideration of the social function of religion from the point of view of the controversial nature of its relationship with the spiritual foundations of religious acts.
