Specific Character of Religious Identification of the Orthodox Russians Dwelt on the Baikal Shore

Abstract

The article considers the specific character of religious identification of the Russians dwelt on the Baikal Lake shore. On the basis of the field materials it is found out that in the absence of formal manifestations of religiosity people identify themselves as orthodox. The author concludes that, from the one hand, it is an evidence of indissoluble connection with the orthodox ancestors, from the other hand it is the result of the remembering culture, moreover it is cultural religiosity.
