On the Question of Persian Influence in the Old Testament Judaism: the Problem of Evil, Monotheism, Thanatology and Eschatology
The paper studies probable influence of the Persian religion on the Old Testament Judaism. The authors analyze the genesis and evolution of a number of Old Testament concepts in view of modern research. The ideas of evil, monotheism, thanatology and eschatology in the Old Testament Judaism and the Persian religion have been compared. The conclusion is made about the degree of probable Persian influence on the Old Testament Judaism.
