Christianity in China in the Context of Contemporary Chinese Religious Studies

Abstract
Using theoretical and empirical material collected by Chinese religious studies scholars in the course of ethnographic study, the author reveals specifics of contemporary Chinese Christianity according to adherents’ community affiliation. Four Chinese social communities where Christianity acquired characteristic features are presented. They are rural population, urban dwellers, intellectuals and businessmen.
