Apocalypticism in the Life and Teaching of Paul the Apostle: Some Aspects of the Biography

Author(s)
A. A. Todiev
Abstract
The article discusses the relationship between the personality of Paul the Apostle and Jewish intertestamental apocalyptic writing in the socio-ideological aspect. Correlation between apocalyptic writing and the Palestinian Judaism of the Second Temple is studied, with the Pharisees being the most vivid example. Apocalyptic elements were of great importance among the Pharisees, so Paul the Apostle, as a Pharisee, could have been familiar with the apocalyptic tradition and involved in apocalipticism as a social movement.
