In the context of the social and philosophical analysis of the nature of the Russian church schism it is defined as opposition to the idea of sobornost and quasi-religious idea of “the Third Rome”. The idea of relation of religious experience with ethnic consciousness conceptualized by Old Believers was the first act of mainstreaming the Russian philosophy as authentic thinking. The sociocentrism idea of the nature of the Russian Orthodoxy was made sense of as early as in the 17th century and is a basis for identifying the Russian philosophy as a religious one.
