Political and Geographical Methods and Factors in the Formation of Electoral Districts

Abstract
The application of basic political and geographical methods and factors in the formation of electoral districts and their impact on the electoral process and its results is analyzed. Division of electoral one-mandatory districts at elections for the 7th State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in the Irkutsk region, Krasnoyarsk and TransBaikal Territories, Republics of Buryatia, Yakutia (Sakha) and Tuva used nowadays is considered. Heterogeneity of the demographic and ethnic structure of electoral districts is revealed.
