The article deals with some findings of the expert panel (which was convened in 2016) on the study of interethnic relations in the Republic of Buryatia. Based on the results a conclusion about a positive assessment of interethnic consent in the region and an optimistic forecast for its development in the nearest future is drawn. Factors contributing to preservation of the conflict-free interethnic interaction and possible destabilizing factors are specified. Prospects of preservation of interethnic stability associated with improvement of socioeconomic status of the population, developing integrative behavioral strategies, rasing the role of international education of the young generation, and conforming ethnic interests are identified.
