The author presents the analysis of some articles devoted to the transitional moment in the modern studies of memory. We can speak about the displacement of the research position away from the rhetoric of collective experience and collective forms of representation of historical experience. There is the problem of absence of the base for theoretical generalizations and patterns of interpretation, which are designed to demonstrate the ratio of private nature of memories with the social context in which they have become possible.
