Abstract
Since the democratization of the society of the Republic of Korea at the turn of 1980–1990s there was entered a heated debate over the influence of the colonial period on the history of Korea in general, and on the current situation in particular. The article reviews the main «colonial» issues, that are being discussed in today's Republic of Korea, and their historical background.
