The impact ofcertain socio-political instructions on the activity of musical organizations of the Department of Art Affairs at Irkutsk Regional Executive Committee in the first post-war decade is considered. The Irkutsk Theater of Musical Comedy, the Irkutsk Philharmonic Hall, the Irkutsk department of the Union of Soviet composers, school of music, college of music were among these organizations. The purpose of this article written on the basis of the analysis of archival documents and materials of the periodical press of 1945–1956s is to show the impact of socio-political instructions of that time on the work of such organizations.
