Закон об обязательном школьном образовании, действующий в Германии, является поводом для многолетнего конфликта, в который, с одной стороны, вовлечены государство и светское большинство, с другой - консервативные протестантские сообщества. Государство настаивает на исполнении закона, вовлекая суды и полицию. Религиозные семьи отвечают эмиграцией, регистрацией детей в других странах, постоянной сменой места жительства.
