The Concept of Holiness in Postmodern Artistry (the Case of R. Davies’ Work)

Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of the interpretation of holiness in the postmodern text on the example of R. Davies’ works. The origin of the artistic concept of R. Davies has been considered. The authors compared his views with the ideas of Dante Alighieri and romantic literature. The points of view on the phenomenon of holiness presented in R. Davies' novel «Fifth Business» were analyzed. The authors came to a conclusion that the writer was inspired by the non-confessional understanding of holiness and addressed holiness not taking into consideration the world around.
