«Demographic Reserves» for Economic Development in the Irkutsk Region: Exhaustion of Resources?

Abstract

The article examines changes of population size, its sex and age structure in the Irkutsk region. Author investigates the impact of factors variety on population structure and makes demographic forecast for working-age population of the Irkutsk region. The number of migrants required for the regional economics development was calculated on the basis of the forecast.
