The paper gives the analysis of trade unions and their role in the current Russian political system. D. Easton’s model of a political system, which considers political interactions in such categories as “input”, “conversion”, “output” and “feedback” demonstrating stages of a political process, provided the basis for examining the way trade unions influence the development of policies at each of the stages mentioned above, and what significance they have in the current Russian political system. This context provided the basis for the analysis of some features of representation (articulation and aggregation) of workers’ interests by trade unions, their participation in legal examination of relevant regulatory legal acts and public control over the implementation of political decisions.
