ASEAN and «East Asian Commumty» Project

Abstract
The article considers East Asian community formed under ASEAN's initiative in 2005 to strengthen peace, stability and economic prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region. The rapid development of Asian regional economies calls for closer links among countries in the region and greater integration in the context of gradual recovery from the global economic crisis of 2008.
