Abstract

The presented article is a historiography review of the web-site content of the history of penitentiary politics of Russian Empire in Siberia in XVII–XX-th c. The author examines the works of the leading contemporary researches, indicating the main issues of the theme: legislative base formation of the penal and political exile to Siberia, the living conditions of the prisoners, the labor occupancy, as well as the prisonous direction officers' professionalism.
