Fukushima: Socio-Cultural Consequences of the Catastrophe. Japanese-Russian Workshop

Abstract

This seminar is devoted to detailed analysis of the effects of the negative impact of aggressive environmental factors (such as earthquakes, tsunamis, atomic explosions, etc.) on the social, political, economic, psychological, cultural and historical spheres of the state, its population. The discussion was based on Japan's experience of overcoming the consequences of Fukushima disaster, during which both natural and anthropogenic factors appeared. Participants of the seminar analyzed problems of reproduction of historical memory in different countries concerning the events connected with the historical, social, political and cultural clashes. In particular, researchers analyzed Japanese historical experience connected with reactions to the events of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and reactions to Fukushima catastrophe.
